Rockwall Trail, Kootenay NP. Aug 7-10 2007

Bob Beck, Artur Grabowski

We hiked North-South on the Rockwall going in at the Paint Pots trailhead. we camped at Helmet Falls, Tumbling Creek, and Numa. Weather was intermittent rainy most of the time, with storms at night. Most of the time the Rockwall had the tops of the peaks in cloud, although we had some good weather in the passes from time to time. While we had intended to go one more night over Numa pass to Floe Lake., we elected to abort out the Numa creek trail due to bad weather, with Numa pass socked in solid and Thunderstorms threatening.

Numa Campground. Everything in the picture, except the second pot, came from my 30 litre pack - my hammock, tarp, and poncho rigged on poles, and the fire I lit with stream driftwood. Interestingly, we had many visitors for discussion and dinner, since those packing 90 litre loads didn't seem to have tarps or fire :) Art's Hennesey Hammock in Numa Campground
