Also brought back the Scotch. Didn't feel up to extra hot drinks or Scotch due to a brief bout of Nausea (no idea why) before dinnertime on day 2. It passed quickly enough and I was fine, but didn't want to risk it. Had extra snacks due to receiving a bag of Captain Crunch and milk powder for an extra breakfast, and so hiked out on a sugar buzz without eating anything on the way down. Cold night in snowbowl with a good hard frost, probably -5 C or so and a good coating of frost everywhere in the morning. Slept in hammock with the Merlin bag as a quilt, wearing long johns, socks, wool shirts, and MEC fleece toque and with the blue foam in the hammock. Had the silponcho underneath the hammock as a layer/windblock, but no insulation inside the silponcho slept comfortably but this is probably as low as I would want to go with that system without adding some insulation (at least a couple wadded up space blankets) between the poncho and hammock bottom - or if colder resort to my wad of poly batting in there too. I was however glad I had the new merlin bag - it is both lighter and warmer than my exped wallcreeper PL primaloft bag. Bag weighted about 18.5 pounds on the digital scale, before putting it in the car for the drive to the trailhead, that included food and fuel, but no water in the platypus bag, and without my wallet, cell phone, and permit in the bottom of my clothing bag (added at the trailhead.)
